what’s with the monkey business?

When I was a little wee lad (I’m not Scottish) I used to have, shall we say, prominent ears that made me resemble a baby chimp. I also used to gel my hair to within an inch of its life which lead to my school friends affectionately calling me Grease Monkey!

The original name for this website was in fact Grease Monkey but after releasing this was a successful oil brand and seeing that the name looks rubbish on shirts I shortened it to what it is is now GRMKY. The London part on my logo, well thats simple because I love visiting London and because I thought it added some form of quality to the name and brand!

satisfying my OCD

The early iteration of this website had many more monkey designs available, I was knocking designs out left right and centre, but it was only when I came to translate these to print and then onto shirts I started to see that some designs. whilst looking awesome on screen. did not sit right on printed fabric! This along with wanting to add an element of ‘curated rarity’ lead me to drastically cut down my monkeys!

I have now a small selection of my most favourite monkeys available on the website but don’t worry, I am holding a few of those originals in reserve to add to the website when the time is right!
